The Weekender II Beckons…

It was the best of times…

Well, now that I have a shiny new website and a blog that isn’t like pulling teeth to use, it would be churlish not to use it…

It’s the Black Library Weekender tomorrow and Sunday, though I gather folk are already beginning to accrete around Nottingham even now. Even though there’s only been two of the Weekender events so far, they’ve rapidly shot up my list of ‘Favourite Events’ to the top. I love the informal vibe of the Weekenders, and it’s always good to get to spend time with people without feeling we need to hurry along, as there’s someone behind that wants to chat or get their book signed.

There’s some top folks here from the writing, artistic and editorial side of things, so it’s a great excuse to come and hang out with all the good folks of Black Library who help make it all possible. It’s friendly, relaxed and there’s a chance to get your hands on some exciting new stuff too. I’m ready to spill blood to get a copy of Macragge’s Honour, so you have been warned…

And hanging out in the bar with everyone is just the icing on the cake….but unfortunately I’m not going to be able to do that this time. I’ve a good friend’s stag night in Nottingham, so will be departing the Belfry at the end of festivities to go into town to eat curry and drink beer. It’s a hard life.

But enough of what I won’t be doing, I hear you cry, tell me what you are going to be doing?

I’m glad you asked. Here’s a timetable for the event, where you’ll see where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing.

Hope to see you all there, and if I’m a bit quietly spoken, slumped and bleary-eyed on Sunday, bear with me…

Right, back to Gods of Mars.
